We support our
clients cost-effectively in a broad range of scientific
and engineering software applications.
Technology is often
delivered as a software application in today's world. We
assist with the development, maintenance, interfacing,
and support of such applications for clients who lack the time
or the skills to do such work themselves. We can
write new applications from a client's specifications, modify
existing applications, and add user-friendly interfaces to legacy
code. Our background in science and engineering
differentiates us from many other software providers since we
speak the client's language. Our services can free the client
to pursue more valuable work instead of getting bogged down in
writing software code.
Here is just
one example of what we do. Fortran programs running on
Microsoft Windows can be encapsulated as a DLL file called from an
Excel interface. This environment is familiar to many users.
The Excel workbook can contain multiple sheets that document the
process involved, provide for input and output of data, and
visualize the results with graphs. Excel by itself can be a
good environment to develop software for applications that are not
numerically intensive. The VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)
functionality built into Excel allows one to program sophisticated
software that far exceeds just putting formulas into cells.
Excel also provides color, graphics, and controls (buttons,
drop-down lists, etc.) that allow one to create a rich, eye-catching
display versus the monochrome, text-and-numbers-only results so
often seen.
We can
also produce and deliver seminars on topics related to
scientific and engineering computation for interested clients.
